Drydocks

The name of Royal Haskoning is synonymous with shipyard and drydock engineering. The firm has been responsible for the design of drydocks and related infrastructure of all types and size throughout the world for over 30 years. This has included the design of the world's largest drydock, which included the entrance and intermediate gate, for the Daewoo Okpo Shipyard in South Korea, which has an entrance width of 131m.

As well as designing modern drydock facilities for all vessel sizes, Royal Haskoning has been responsible for the modernisation of old admiralty docks in Naval Bases. This has included the designing of dock infrastructure such as hauling-in systems, dock arms, dock blocks, fendering, crane beams/rails and dock services. The firm has also undertaken many condition surveys and structural inspections of old docks, which often include the structural assessment of dock walls or floors for revised loadings.

In recent years Royal Haskoning have designed new drydocks in many parts of the world including Singapore, UAE, Phillipines, India, Sri Lanka and Greece. The firm has also undertaken many dock modernisations throughout the UK, Gibralter, and other areas of the world.

Royal Haskoning are currently carrying out the engineering and design of two large drydocks in Iran.
