Royal Haskoning has built up a particular niche skill in the design of dock gates both for new installations and replacements for existing facilities. New types of gates have been developed to suit clients' particular requirements and replacement gate designs have given improved performance and reduced construction and maintenance costs. The design work undertaken includes the finite element modelling of the gate structures, and ballasting / buoyancy and stability analyses where appropriate.
